:: about b34tz.net
Welcome to b34tz.net. This server is hosted right in my room and is mainly a place for me to play around with and host stuff I like. This page does not really serve any specific purpose (other than playing with PHP :) but I plan to add some more interesting sections, and possibly integrate it with the restricted page for b34tz users. Any questions about this place - mail me at nemo_AT_b34tz_D0T_net (remove the spam protection of course). This page is hosted on a Slackware linux box, running apache on a cable internet connection. HTML and PHP code is written by hand using VI, graphics by the gimp.

:: about me Well, here we go : I'm a 23 years old belgian/german computer geek, I live in brussels and I'm currently working as a HP-UX and SAP support engineer. I enjoy hacking around with my boxes, seeing my girl, getting drunk with friends ... the usual stuff. I'm certainly no ub3r guru but I like to play around with all sorts of computer stuff (mainly networks, unices, graphics and web, music ..). Here's an ASCII pic of me and my girlfriend :) A few random things I believe : I believe that knowledge is power. To quote Linus Torvalds (had to do it at least once), "software is like sex, it's better when it's free". I also believe that mainstream seriously sucks. I don't feel like offending all the people who actually like wasting their life in front of their tv, listening to cheap pop music and pretending they're so cool, but I'll leave that to them (okay now you all think I'm an underground k1dd1e). In my eyes, the internet is about the only media that's worth something. I mainly listen to electronic music and jazz (electronic means drum n bass/electro/jazzy house - no trance bullshit :p). Some artists I really like include Aphex Twin, Squarepusher, Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, Aka Moon, Greetings From Mercury, Adult., Steve Coleman, Ninja Tune label of course, ... |
